Our Organic Premium Sencha is a steamed green tea from Shizuoka in Southern Japan, harvested in the early spring (the first flush). Shizuoka has the largest production of tea in Japan but the quantity of organic tea is low. For organic, the use of pesticide and fertilizer are limited and strict farming methods which support the local wildlife must be adhered to. In this situation, only the 1st harvest tea leaves with the richest taste and sweetness are used.

This is the highest grade of organic tea. Higher grades such as this tend to have more delicate flavour profiles. A crisp and clean tea with notes of freshly steamed edamame beans. Refreshing, lightly sweet, and much more delicate than most Japanese Senchas. If you're new to Sencha (and the teas of Japan in general), this would be an excellent place to start.
