Green tea requires special care when handling to not break the leaves. The young buds and leaves are hand-picked and left to bask in the sun. 🍃
With the Imperial Gunpowder, the final process is pan baking (the Chinese method). Finally, the leaves are tightly rolled into balls that resemble gunpowder pellets. When you add to it the slightly smokey taste, this is how the tea got its name. It has a long shelf life and is even used as a base in mint tea preparations in Morocco. Bold and slightly smokey in flavour, this is a great everyday green tea. 🌿
